Why is this test done?

  • Screen for syphilis
  • Antenatal and pre-marital screening

Symptoms — when should you get tested?

  • Painless genital sore
  • Rash on palms and soles
  • Known exposure

Normal range

Kahn test Non-reactive

Reference ranges differ slightly between labs, methods, age and sex. Always discuss your report with your doctor.

If your result is high

A reactive result suggests possible syphilis and needs confirmation with TPHA.
